My love for music has been an essential part of my life since I was a child, learning several instruments, and then beginning to write music as a late teen. After a couple decades of raising children as a single mom, I picked up my guitar again, got my fingers limbered up on the piano and brought my flute out of retirement for some studio recordings.
I was very blessed to be able to record a couple albums in New Orleans with a church choir and was bit hard with the recording bug. After moving back to Minnesota where I grew up, I contributed to two more CD projects before having the honor of composing, arranging, producing, and recording my own solo albums—Anointed and Behold.
Called by Grace is the “group” name I felt led to use based on 1 Peter 5:10. I knew there would be transient people helping me out on projects, so I didn’t want it to be just my name. At the time, we also had just been through a massive difficulty in our lives and this verse spoke deeply to my heart:
“The God of all grace who called you to his eternal glory through Christ Jesus will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you after you have suffered a little.”
In more recent years, the Lord is reviving this ministry in my life and has expanded it to include prayer cards. My later-in-life degree in graphic design (cbgraphicdesigns.com) allows me to produce materials I can share with others who are just learning about the power of prayer. I’ve also enjoyed making rosaries and St. Michael chaplets, sharing them with people I am blessed to pray with.
Another dimension of our Lord’s work in my life is the development of my YouTube channel: Northstar Prepsteader. I truly thought the Lord was off His rocker when He asked me to start this, but His purpose is to get the message of hope out to people, especially those in seemingly hopeless situations, and into a tech-driven society that tries every way possible to deny His existence.
